Diego Simeone has been in talks to become Chelsea's new permanent manager |
DIEGO SIMEONE wants total control of transfers if he is to take over at Chelsea, according to reports.
Jose Mourinho was sacked by the Blues last week after a disastrous start to their title defence which sees them in 15th spot in the Premier League table.
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich swiftly appointed Guus Hiddink on an interim basis and he will be in the dugout for the visit of Watford on Boxing Day (3pm).
But a list of long-term managerial targets has been drawn up which includes Pep Guardiola, who will leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season.
News News Blog Sport understands Chelsea have been in talks with Simeone to establish his interest in the role.
But according to the Daily Telegraph, appointing the Argentine might not be so straightforward.
The Atletico Madrid manager has a number of conditions, and it is thought a final say on transfers is 'non-negotiable'.

It is added that Simeone would want to sign five new players if he gets the Chelsea job.
Simeone reportedly earns £4million-a-year deal at Atletico and the west London outfit would have to meet his £15m buy-out clause if they want to hire him.
