CESC FABREGAS has insisted he had an 'exceptionally good relationship' with former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho.
The midfielder has been at the heart of reports claiming there was a player revolt behind the scenes at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea fans brandished signs calling the Spain international a rat, along with Diego Costa and Eden Hazard at the Sunderland game last weekend.
And pundit Pat Nevin had to issue an apology to Fabregas following comments made on BBC Sportsweek, claiming he had 'unfairly targeted' the player.
And since then the 28-year-old has come out to clear the air, revealing he had a great relationship with the former Blues boss.
"I can reiterate that I had an exceptionally good relationship with Jose Mourinho as I will aim to have with any coach that I play for," he posted on Instagram.
"The football club is more important than any one player. We have all let the manager and club down this year as a collective unit.
"We will get this right of that I am sure. With all your help we can put this period behind us and make @chelseafc great again."
Chelsea currently sit in 15th place in the Premier League table, winning 3-1 against Sunderland in Guus Hiddink's first game in charge last Saturday.
