PATRICK BAMFORD has confirmed he will return to Chelsea after cutting short his loan at Crystal Palace.
Bamford moved to Selhurst Park on a season-long loan in the summer with the aim of gaining some Premier League experience after spending the last two seasons in the Championship.
But the 22-year-old has failed to make a single league start for the Eagles and will now return to Stamford Bridge sooner than expected.
He told News Shopper: "That was my last game. I've told them I'm going back"
Last season Bamford won Championship Player of the Year award while on loan at Middlesbrough.
Upon his return to Chelsea he signed a new three-year deal before joining up with Alan Pardew's side.
Bamford admitted in October he was upset and frustrated by how his time with Palace was playing out.
He said: "I have only had a short career but I would say this has been one of the most upsetting times since I have been playing football. To not play and sit on the bench is not enjoyable.
“But I am not the type of guy to quit and say that I have failed. I would not want that to follow me around for the rest of my career.
"So I am going to give it a shot and I think I have the ability to do it. Once I get a run of games I am sure it will happen.”
