CHELSEA look set to begin talks with ex-Tottenham manager Juande Ramos after his agent flew into London to start contract negotiations, according to reports.
Jose Mourinho is under increasing pressure at Stamford Bridge after his side’s 2-1 defeat at Leicester on Monday night, their ninth league loss of the season.
With the Blues 16th in the table, the club’s hierarchy have been locked in lengthy discussions over the Portuguese manager’s future.
Pep Guardiola, Carlo Ancelotti and Diego Simeone have all been linked with the managerial role at Stamford Bridge but Ramos is now in pole position.
The 61-year-old could be appointed in an 'interim' role until the end of the season should Mourinho receive his marching orders from Roman Abramovich.
And Spanish outlet AS claim the agent of the former Real Madrid coach, Gines Carvajal, flew into London this morning to discuss terms.
Ramos became Spurs manager in October 2007 and won the League Cup in 2008, however he was dismissed in October of the same year following a run of poor form.
His last role as manager was with Dnipro in Ukraine where he spent four years before leaving in May 2014.
