Roberto Mancini is in the frame for the Chelsea job |
CHELSEA have made an approach for Inter Milan manager Roberto Mancini, according to reports in Italy.
The Blues sacked Jose Mourinho last week and have appointed Guus Hiddink until the end of the season.
Pep Guardiola is Roman Abramovich's first choice to take the hot seat - but Manchester City are the favourites to land the Spaniard.
And now former City boss Mancini is in the frame for the Stamford Bridge job.
Mancini returned to Inter in 2014 after a stint at Galatasaray following his dismissal at City.
Football Italia are reporting that Mancini has been approached in a deal worth €8.5million-a-season.
Mancini's Inter currently lead Serie A after 17 games but lost late on to Lazio on Saturday.
Mancini guided Chelsea to the title in 2012 |
The 51-year-old led City to their first title in the modern era after they beat QPR in dramatic fashion on the final day of the season in 2012.
He also guided City to the FA Cup in 2011 and the Community Shield in 2012.
He has three Serie A titles to his name but has yet to win a piece of silverware in Italy since his return.
