Chelsea board member reveals the reason they sacked Jose Mourinho
Emenalo is Chelsea's technical director, and has revealed why Mourinho is no longer manager

MICHAEL EMENALO has revealed that Chelsea sacked Jose Mourinho because of the breakdown of his relationship with the players.

Mourinho was dismissed earlier today as with the champions just a point above the relegation zone, languishing in 16th place.
But Emenalo, the club's technical director, has told Chelsea TV that the dressing room problems played a part
"While there is huge sentiment for the individual who has done so much for the club, the fact of the matter is that Chelsea Football Club is in trouble," said Emenalo.

"The results are not good. There obviously seems to be a palpable discord between the manager and the players and we felt it was time to act.
"The owner is forced to make what is a very trough decision for the good of the club.
"Chelsea is one point above relegation and that's not good enough.

"Anybody who has any kind of affiliation to the club can understand that the club is in trouble and something had to be done."
Chelsea face Sunderland at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, before hosting Watford on Boxing Day, both games Blues fans will expect to see their side winning.
But nothing can be taken for granted this year, while many fans have been quick to blame the players for Chelsea's recent failures, Emenalo disagrees.
"I think that the same people need to remember that this is essentially the same group of players who won the league last season," Emenalo added.

"They did it in style, and by showing commitment, by sweating tears and blood when needed.
"They played to instruction, they did everything that the manager asked them to do.
"We know now that the players have a responsibility to go out and prove everybody wrong and show a certain level of commitment to the decision that has been made tonight."
