Remi Garde wants Roma outcast Ashley Cole |
REMI GARDE has confirmed Aston Villa's interest in Roma's Ashley Cole.
The Villa boss is in the market for a new left-back following injury to Jordan Amavi.
The 21-year-old arrived at Villa Park in the summer for £9million but has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a cruciate knee ligament damage.
And Garde has identified his old Arsenal team-mate Cole as a potential replacement as he looks to rescue rockbottom Villa's season.
Cole, who has three Premier League titles to his name from spells at Arsenal and Chelsea, is currently out in the cold at Roma.
Ashley Cole has not featured for Roma this season |
The former England international is yet to feature for the Serie A giants this season and is reportedly up for sale in the January window.
And Garde has said on the speculation: “He has experience but he didn’t play for a while now. Every good player is interesting for me and Ashley is a good player.”
