FRANCE and Germany could well meet next summer at Euro 2016 - but their Arsenal stars have already gone head-to-head.

Olivier Giroud, Laurent Koscielny, Mesut Ozil and Per Mertesacker took part in a doubles Footpool match for their respective nations.
The match was set up by Citroen, who have created the new and unique Footpool table with Airbump® technology forming the cushions of the pool-style table.
Airbump® technology is a feature of the multi-award winning Citroën C4 Cactus and is designed to protect the bodywork from minor bumps and scrapes.

In Airbump® Footpool, the Airbump® cushions feature Airbump® panels to deflect the balls and to allow clever trick shots as part of the game.
As well as showcasing their skills, the France vs Germany match brought out the competitive spirit of the Arsenal players.
Like a classic game of pool, the team who potted all of their balls first, won.

And unsurprisingly, in his current form, Ozil led his team to glory - although it was Mertesacker who secured the victory with his calmness in front of the pocket.
The Airbump® Footpool table is set to make an appearance at Emirates Stadium early in 2016 giving fans an opportunity to try it out for themselves.
In the meantime Arsenal were overtaken at the top of the Premier League by Leicester, who beat Chelsea, last night and face a crucial game against Manchester City on Monday.

The Gunners could pull four points away from City with victory and manager Arsene Wenger has insisted his in form striker Giroud, who scored against Villa in Sunday's 2-0 win after his Champions League hat-trick, deserves more credit.
"He is at the top of his game, but is sometimes questioned," said Wenger.
"Finally the numbers get people to realise he is a good player.
"He is more of a player who plays with his back to goal and brings other people in.
"Maybe he is not spectacular individually but he is very efficient and a very important player for the team. He is also mentally very strong."
