Arsenal dealt blow in Jonanthan Calleri pursuit |
NEWS NEWS BLOG SPORT brings you all the latest news coming from the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal - as well as Chelsea and Brighton - look set to miss out on Boca Juniors striker Jonathan Calleri in January.
The 22-year-old's agent has instead talked up a move to Serie A giants Inter Milan, who are prepared to pay in excess of £10million for his services.
"There’s good news about Calleri," his agent Angelo Paradiso told Italian outlet Il Sussidiario.
"The purchase is almost done, we’re just lacking the final details. We’re talking about a figure close to €14m (£10.1m)."
Meanwhile, Arsenal fan and shareholder Piers Morgan has urged Gunners boss Arsene Wenger to make a move for Leicester striker Jamie Vardy.
The England international grabbed his 15th goal of the season in the 2-1 win over Chelsea last night to send the Foxes top of the Premier League.
Morgan tweeted: "Vardy, what a brilliant striker. Sign him, Wenger."

Jordi Alba expecting tough Arsenal test in Champions League |
And finally, Barcelona left-back Jordi Alba has revealed why he's expecting a difficult battle with Arsenal in the Champions League last 16.
Barca have lost just once to the Gunners in the last seven encounters, but Alba is well aware of the quality of attackers in Wenger's squad.
“They’re a very complicated opponent who from midfield to the forwards have players who are very good with the ball,” he told Marca.
“I’m sure they’ll make things difficult. Every year is different but this time it will be made more complicated by the players Arsenal have.”
