ARSENE WENGER has admitted Arsenal missed out on the chance to sign Raheem Sterling before he joined Liverpool in 2010.
The Manchester City star was a highly rated youth prospect at Queens Park Rangers in 2010.
But left London and moved to Liverpool aged 16 for around £500,000.
Sterling joins the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Yaya Toure in players the Gunners boss was keen on signing.
And ahead of the 21-year-old's City side arriving at the Emirates tomorrow night for the top-of-the-table clash, Wenger revealed he was keeping tabs on Sterling at QPR.
He said: "We had many players on the flanks, but Sterling was at QPR - that’s where we should take the players.
"We watched him but you miss obvious players.
"The history of every club is full of top players that you missed. At the time Liverpool were quicker."
