Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger opens up on Ashley Cole as Aston Villa target free agent
ASHLEY COLE would be an inspired signing at Aston Villa, claims the left-back's former manager Arsene Wenger.

Ex-England ace Cole, 34, is without a club after leaving Roma in the summer.
to help boost the club's Premier League survival chances.
And Wenger believes Cole, who famously quit Arsenal for Chelsea back in 2006, says the veteran would be a good signing for the midlands club.

"He has lost (Jordan) Amavi, and he is looking for a left back," Wenger said.
"If one has strength of character and talent, of course Ashley Cole has made a fantastic career. He’s at the end of it.
"Can he again find the physical resources to produce positive impact at Aston Villa?
"I think if he’s free of injuries he can still do it, yes."

Cole won two Premier League titles and three FA Cups with Arsenal before his controversial switch to London rivals Chelsea.
He went on to win another league title, the Champions League, Europa League, four more FA Cups and the League Cup.
Cole moved to Roma last year but remained in the Italian capital for just one season before being released.
“He has experience but he didn’t play for a while now," said.
"Every good player is interesting for me and Ashley is a good player.”
