The talented 18-year-old has been loan in Scotland since the start of the season and has impressed enough to extend his deal.
He’s made 14 appearances for the club under Warburton and the former Brentford manager is delighted to hold on to the young American.
He said: “Gedion is staying with us.
“We talked to them as part of an on-going process.
“It’s about us creating an environment here where clubs of that stature trust us with their players.
“That’s important medically, nutritionally, training wise, home time, experience and their players will go back to heir clubs better, as better individuals on and off the pitch.
“If we can get a reputations for that, then great.
“It’s important to develop those links and build them. They can be spoiled very quickly, so it’s an on-going process to be better every day.”
Zelalem has played just twice for Arsenal but is highly rated at the Emirates.
