ARSENAL could be set to miss out on signing Paris Saint-Germain striker Ezequiel Lavezzi after the player's agent reportedly flew to Italy for negotiations with rival suitors.
Lavezzi, 30, is one of a number of players linked with a move to Arsenal.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is expected to make moves in the transfer market next month, with Lavezzi seen as a bargain at £3.5million.
But Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport claim Serie A giants Juventus and Inter Milan are close to hijacking the move.
Lavezzi's agent, Alejandro Mazzoni, is expected to land in Turin today to hold talks with Juve.
Mazzoni will then head to Milan for further negotiations as he tries to land Lavezzi the £2.9m-a-year contract he commands.
Lavezzi's contract at PSG expires this summer and the Ligue 1 champions are keen to cash in on their Argentina international.
They have set a bargain fee for the player in an effort to recuperate some of the £25m paid to Napoli for his services back in 2012.
It is thought Inter are unwilling to pay the asking price and prefer a loan option with a free transfer arranged for the end of the season instead.
As for Juve, Massimiliano Allegri's side are struggling for goals as they seek a fifth straight Serie A title and the boss is preparing for an active January transfer window.
