X Factor and Strictly Come Dancing both want Adele

SINGER Adele has been caught in a tug of war between The X Factor and Strictly Come Dancing.

 

The ITV pop show believes its sliding ratings could be revived by the 27-year-old, whose single Hello has stormed to the top of the charts. 

But the BBC bosses at Strictly are also believed to want her to help them further increase their audience.

Last month, a few notes from her latest song were played in an advert on The X Factor, creating a social media storm.

As the show’s ratings drop, Simon Cowell is determined to get her on, asking fellow judge Nick Grimshaw, the Radio 1 DJ, to convince her. 

 

“We’d fight Strictly to get Adele,” said Cowell. 

“If she has to choose between the two we have got the record buying audience. We still pull in millions of viewers.”
