Arsenal are preparing a January bid for Juventus centre-back Daniele Rugani, according to Sport Witness.
Rugani, 21, has made just one appearance for the Turin club all season, coming on as a last-minute substitute in their 2-0 Champions League win over Sevilla last week.
It is understood Arsene Wenger has been tracking the Italian for a while, with Napoli, Sampdoria, Lazio and Fiorentina all reportedly keen on him.
The player's agent last month hinted that he may need to leave Juve to get game time, with Arsenal a possible destination.
Ex-Arsenal striker Charlie Nicholas wants his former club to sign Toby Alderweireld from Tottenham.
Alderweireld is expected to start in the north London derby tomorrow, having arrived from Atletico Madrid in an £11.5million deal this summer.
"Toby Alderweireld is the one Tottenham player I've been very impressed with," Nicholas told Sky Sports.
"When I saw him playing for Southampton I was desperate for Arsene Wenger to go and get him.
"He has a controlled aggression and can give it back.
"Jan Vertonghen for me tries to be aggressive but falls down whenever he gets touched and I've never liked that."
