Transfer News: Man United's £45m Stones move, Chelsea's Rooney bid, Arsenal winger blow
John Stones is wanted by Manchester United
NEWS NEWS BLOG SPORT brings you the latest transfer news.

Manchester United have been told to pay £45million for John Stones, according to the Manchester Evening News.
The Everton defender was wanted by Chelsea in the summer but Roberto Martinez held firm.
Stones has since impressed for the Toffees and England.

And United, according to the MEN, have been watching his progress and hope to bring him to Old Trafford.
Jose Mourinho is still interested in Stones and could go back in for him when the January window opens, however Everton are expected to stand firm.
Martinez yesterday said all bids would be rejected.

When asked about whether their best players could be leaving when the window reopens, Martinez said: "Not at all, no.
"We're not in a position where we have to make financial decisions [like that].
"The focus is clearly on trying to be strong together and having a real continuity."

Transfer News: Man United's £45m Stones move, Chelsea's Rooney bid, Arsenal winger blow
Stones played well in England's 2-0 win over France
Chelsea failed in a bid to sign Wayne Rooney in 2013, technical director Michael Emenalo has revealed.
The Blues were in for Rooney and, in a piece defending they transfer policy, Emenalo insists they can still finish the season well despite not getting their main targets this summer.
“We understand as a club this is football and you don’t always get what you want – and that is not to suggest that we didn’t get what we want. We understand that as long as we have done things right and made the right effort there is no need to have regrets," Emenalo told the Telegraph.
“A couple of years ago [summer of 2013] it was well documented we tried to get [Wayne] Rooney. We didn’t get Rooney and we still finished second and started strongly, so there is no correlation between whether we had a big transfer window or not.
"What is important to understand is that as a club we work as a unit to try to get things done and get it done the right way. We didn’t get Stones, not because we didn’t want him but because Everton didn’t want to sell Stones.”

Arsenal and Liverpool now have competition in the race for Ezequiel Lavezzi, according to talkSPORT.
The PSG winger is wanted by Inter Milan, admits the club's sporting director, Piero Ausilio.
And the radio station report that Arsenal and Liverpool have both had the Argentina winger scouted this season.
"This summer, we tried to sign him [Lavezzi]," Ausilio told Gazzetta dello Sport.
"We were looking for an attacker, but we finally went for Adem Ljajic. There was little chance to sign Lavezzi, he wanted to play Champions League football.
"It was a very expensive-looking transfer, we will see what will happen."
