Chelsea are stepping up their interest in a new striker.
With Diego Costa more interested in kicking and sniffing opponents than scoring goals, Jose Mourinho is set to act.
The Portuguese is keen on Gonzalo Higuain, according to the Daily Mirror.
 
The Napoli striker has scored nine goals in 12 Serie A games this season.
And Mourinho sees him as the man to arrest the Chelsea slump.
The Blues fell to their seventh Premier League defeat on Saturday at the Britannia and are already 13 points off the top four.
Mourinho is under huge pressure having faced a stadium a ban on Saturday but is desperate to turn things around at the Bridge.
 
Manchester United are ready to move for Ayoze Perez in January, according to the Telegraph.
The 22-year-old Spain youth star has been in decent form for Newcastle this season and scored the only goal as they beat Bournemouth on Saturday.
Perez joined Newcastle in 2014 from Tenerife.
Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool are also keen but Manchester United are thought to hold the strongest interest.

The former AC Milan star is set to leave Corinthians after a loan spell at Sao Paulo.
"There is an agreement in principle with Liverpool for the transfer in the coming weeks," Corinthians chief Robero de Andrade told Tutto Mercato Web.
"Pato had long expressed a desire to return to Europe.
"Liverpool await, there are a few missing details, but Klopp will have a new reinforcement and for Pato the Premier League will be a new springboard."

Alexandre Pato has an agreement with Liverpool
Arsenal are favourites to sign Josh Windass from Accrington Stanley, according to reports.
The midfielder is out of contract in the summer and the Gunners face a five-way battle for the 21-year-old.
Brighton, Fulham and Hull Portsmouth are all keen on the son of Hull legend Dean Windass.
Arsene Wenger had the midfielder watched by a scout last Saturday as Stanley beat York 3-2 in the FA Cup first round, according to The Sun.
