CAPTAIN Ashley Williams has pleaded with Swansea not to sack Garry Monk.
Manager Monk had admitted a run of one win in eight Premier League games had put his job on the line, and his position looked extremely precarious when Bournemouth raced into a two-goal lead through Joshua King and Dan Gosling.
Just as the boos began to ring round the Liberty Stadium, Swansea hit back through Andre Ayew and Jonjo Shelvey's penalty.
However, the manner in which Bournemouth controlled large periods of the game will have been an alarming sight for Monk and chairman Huw Jenkins, and there is little room for manoeuvre with games against Liverpool, Leicester and Manchester City next up.
But skipper Williams insists Monk has the full backing of the dressing room, and that Swansea can turn around their poor form.
"This is me coming out and backing the manager officially because we have not done that enough," said the Wales international.
"It's not a conscious thing that we feel we have to, because he knows we do.
"The dressing room is united and we are just trying to do it for him as well as ourselves because we can see how hard the manager and his staff work. "
For Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe, this was another frustrating afternoon as, like against Newcastle, his men could not turn dominance into three points. He knows it is a trend that has to end if they are to retain their top-flight status.
"That is the aim, if someone can find a better way of doing it than we are then I will listen," he said.
