STUART PEARCE has urged young coaches to shy away from the likes of Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho as role models.
The Chelsea boss has had his fair share of undesirable moments this season, being fined £50,000 by the FA for comments about referee Jon Moss.
And the Blues' difficult start to the Premier League has made for some hard-to-watch post-match interviews this season.
And former Manchester City and England U21 coach Pearce believes youngsters looking to get into the game should shun 'egotistical' characters like Mourinho in favour of guys like Sean Dyche.
“If I was a coach now looking to go into coaching or management, we’ve got a fella here who is a student of the game [Dyche]. He’s open-minded and hasn’t got an ego," he told TalkSPORT.
“He didn’t play at the highest level, but I think when young coaches look to go out and educate themselves they look for the biggest names.
"The likes of Guardiola and Mourinho, but there are a lot of lessons to be learned from the people in the lower leagues as well.
“He’s taken a team out of the Championship into the Premier League. He’s managed at Watford where he was unfortunate to lose his job and they are probably now thinking ‘wow, we’ve let an incredible manager leave our football club’.
“He’s managed at youth level at Watford as well, so he’s done the spectrum by coming up slowly."
