Slaven Bilic says West Ham deserved to lose at White Hart Lane |
WEST HAM manager Slaven Bilic has admitted his side got what they deserved in the 4-1 defeat to Tottenham.
Spurs demonstrated their Champions League credentials in the White Hart Lane clash, a win that exposed their London rivals as pretenders at that level.
Harry Kane continued his searing form with a goal either side of half-time, with defenders Toby Alderweireld and Kyle Walker also taking advantage of a disorganised Hammers defence.
The visitors pulled one back with seven minutes left on the clock through Manuel Lanzini, but it would prove only to be a late consolation.
And Bilic says Spurs fully deserved their win, despite his attempt to motivate his players during the break.
He said: "The performance matches the result to be fair. They were better than us.
"Up until the first goal they were pressing but we also had some chances. After the first goal it lifted them, we went in a bit of shock.

"But I said this to the guys, 2-0 down at half-time, we were still in it and needed to score a goal, to raise our game, be more hungry, but the third goal, which came out out of our mistake, it just killed us, and it could have been worse.
"We just couldn’t produce on the pitch. They were more a team. They were, especially physically, quicker and stronger and better in transitions.
"To be fair of course we played a really bad game but they played a really good game and we have to give some credit for this."
