ROBERTO MANCINI believes Chelsea will struggle to finish in the top four this season.
The Blues have endured a poor start to the campaign with just three wins in their opening 12 league matches that leaves them 16th in the table.
Jose Mourinho's men are already 13 points off Manchester United in fourth spot, while Mancini's former side Manchester City lead the table on 26 points.
And Mancini - who managed City between 2009 and 2013 - believes it's already a three-horse race for Premier League silverware this season.
"Manchester City are the best team so far this season and have a good chance to win the title," he told Qatar's Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy.
"I am proud that the team, whose core I built, is doing well this year. But the Premier League is such a difficult championship in which you need to work really hard to win each and every game.
"City will face competition from Manchester United and Arsenal as it is now clear that Chelsea will find it difficult to finish in the top four."
Mancini left City for Turkish outfit Galatasaray in 2013 and then went on to manage Inter Milan after just one season in charge.
