Axel Tuanzebe was on the bench for the game against Crystal Palace |
NICKY BUTT has heaped praise on Manchester United's U19 defenders Axel Tuanzebe and Ro-Shaun Williams.
The defensive duo shone for United in the 0-0 draw against CSKA Moscow in the U19 EUEFA Youth League.
And Butt believes their individual qualitite sin 'one on one' situations is a good sign that they can make the step-up to the first team.
"The lads at the back were brilliant. The way we performed meant we played a lot of the time one v one as well," he told the Manchester Evening News.
"It's a really good thing and something you've got to do if you play for Manchester United at the top level, defend one v one."
Ro-Shaun Williams is renowned for his speed |
"I thought they did that and I was really confident with them doing that, they proved to me they're more than capable of playing at a high level."
Tuanzebe, who was born in the Democratic Republic of Congo, has already caught Louis van Gaal's eye, being named on the bench against Crystal Palace.
Meanwhile, Williams is an England U18 international, who is renowned for his blistering pace.
The Manchester-born defender notably broke Darren Williams' 100m record at the Ashton-upon-Mersey school in 2014 - a record that has stood nearly 25 years.
