Man Utd in transfer battle with Liverpool as both set to bid for Danish wonderkid Emre Mor

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is understood to be a keen admirer of Emre Mor

MANCHESTER UNITED and Liverpool will battle it out for the signature of Danish wonderkid Emre Mor, according to reports.

The FC Nordsjaelland forward is rated as one of the most promising young talents in European football and Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is known to be a long-term admirer.

He was monitoring the 18-year-old's progress when boss at Borussia Dortmund.

And The Daily Mail claim he is still interested in bringing him to Merseyside, while Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal wants to take him to Old Trafford.

Mor has impressed playing for the Danish outfit's Under-19s side and his performances have earned rave reviews from scouts sending information back to England.

Ajax are also reported to be interesting in signing him.

However, United might be the frontrunners, such is their need for attacking reinforcements.

They have managed just one goal in their last four games and main striker Wayne Rooney has just two Premier League goals to his name this term.

Van Gaal has already admitted he is concerned by a lack of goals and could be willing to go into the transfer market to rectify the situation.

Reports emerging today suggest they might also make a move for Fiorentina striker Mario Gomez.
