Ashley Young in action for Manchester United |
ASHLEY YOUNG claims he has tried to copy David Beckham’s sensational goal against Wimbledon in training numerous times, but hasn’t succeeded to date.
Beckham, who was part of United’s infamous Class of ’92, made a name for himself when he scored from the halfway line in the 1996/97 season.
Young admits ‘that’ goal was a stand-out Beckham moment.
However, he has revealed how hard it has been so far to copy Beckham’s strike in training.
“The one moment that stands out when you talk about Becks is that goal at Selhurst Park from inside his own half,” Young told the club’s official website.
“He’s quickly looked up and seen the goalkeeper off his line and had a go.

“I’ve tried it a few times in training but it’s not come off! That goal was absolutely brilliant.”
Beckham, who is now retired, will put his boots back on on Saturday when he returns to Old Trafford to take part in a charity game.
