Louis van Gaal warns Wayne Rooney he may not walk back into Man United's starting XI
Louis van Gaal has hinted he may not recall Wayne Rooney to the Man Utd starting XI
WAYNE ROONEY has been told he will not automatically walk straight back into Manchester United’s starting line-up.

Louis van Gaal offered the warning after the England and United captain recovered from the illness which forced him to missed his side's late win at Watford last weekend.
Luke Shaw, Antonio Valencia, Michael Carrick, Ander Herrera and Phil Jones are definitely out of the Champions League clash with PSV as United search for a win to book their place in the knockout stages.
And Van Gaal insisted Rooney won't be guaranteed his place in the side and said: "No. It is not automatic (he comes straight back). It is always the decision of the manager.

"I will compare the players with each other and see how fit they are and how fit they show me in the training sessions.
"Fitness is the most important thing and he has to show his fitness.
"That's the same with Rooney, (Marouane) Fellaini and (Anthony) Martial.
"They need to show this on the training ground and then I will decide which ones fit into our game plan."
