Mark Lawrenson thinks Jurgen Klopp has rejuvenated Liverpool |
LIVERPOOL legend Mark Lawrenson claims Anfield had fallen "deathly silent" under Brendan Rodgers but insist their Premier League rivals are now scared of new manager Jurgen Klopp.
The German replaced Rodgers after his sacking last month and the Reds are unbeaten since he took over. They appeared to be on a downward trajectory before the appointment, with the club languishing in mid-table.However, a 3-1 victory in their last Premier League outing has given cause for optimism among the Anfield faithful. And Lawrenson believes fans of club like Manchester United and Arsenal are now worried about what their rivals can now achieve."We all have mates who support someone other than Liverpool, and they're all all thinking 'oh my God, we're worried' because the Reds now have a really good manager," he wrote in the Liverpool Echo.Lawrenson also thinks their home ground had fallen a little flat under Rodgers, with a number of them calling for his head before he was axed. But that seems to have changed and the former defender says that's down to the new man at the helm."Our support now has something to look forward to and to man, woman and child, he's been a universal good appointment," he added."Up until he came, Anfield had fallen deathly silent – it was like sitting in your house. The air of resignation was obvious."
