Liverpool legend: I'm sick of everyone comparing me to this Chelsea hero
Steven Gerrard finds it strange that people still compare him and Frank Lampard

STEVEN GERRARD admits he can't understand the obsession people have over the midfield debate between him and Frank Lampard.

Gerrard and Lampard were both compared throughout their illustrious careers in England and for their national team.
There was much debate over both of them not being able to play alongside one another for the Three Lions throughout their international playing days.
And with both of them now playing in the MLS, Gerrard admits it's strange that people still go on about his relationship with his former team-mate Lampard.

"I was hoping people would finally stop comparing me with Frank after moving here," Gerrard said.
"He's a legend and certainly one of those high-end players who will help lift the quality of this league.
"But we've both drawn a line under our England careers so I don't see any reason why we should bring that topic up again. It was always a media thing - we get along just fine."

And when comparing their stats from their debut seasons in the MLS, they once again came close to matching one another.
Lampard recorded three goals and one assist in nine matches for New York City, while Gerrard managed two goals and three assists in 14 appearances for LA Galaxy.
