Jurgen Klopp has lost only one of his first seven games in charge of Liverpool |
JAMIE CARRAGHER believes Jurgen Klopp will struggle to make any signings in the winter transfer window as there is likely to be a lack of top-class players available.
Klopp has enjoyed a successful start to life as Liverpool boss since being appointed as Brendan Rodgers' successor in October, however he suffered his first defeat before the international break against Crystal Palace.
And despite a number of players arriving at Anfield during the summer transfer window, Carragher believes changes will be made.
The former England international insisted Klopp will overhaul the squad again because the Reds aren't currently good enough to win the Premier League, but he doesn’t expect many changes to be made in January.
He told the London Evening Standard: "Eventually, he will make big changes but I think in January it's always difficult to make those kinds of changes.
"Now and again you see signings coming in January who make a big difference - Luis Suarez was huge for Liverpool.
"Daniel Agger came in January too and he did really well, but it's not normally a time when you get the best players on offer.
"I imagine the changes he [Klopp] will look to make and want to implement will come more in the summer.
"At present the team and the squad isn't quite good enough to be where everyone wants Liverpool to be and that's the whole point why you bring a new manager in."
