Hazard may be looking to leave the club sooner rather than later |
INTER MILAN are the latest club to show their interest in signing unsettled Chelsea winger Eden Hazard.
The Belgian has found himself a regular scapegoat for Jose Mourinho this season as the London side have suffered a horrific start to year.
And finding himself in and out of the Chelsea side, speculation has been rife about the Chelsea man transferring away from the club where he made his name.
According to The Mirror, former Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini, a long-term admirer of Hazard, is lining up a bid to bring the 24-year-old to his new club, Inter.
And given Mourinho's very public and regular criticism of Hazard, it could be that Mancini could have him in an Inter Milan shirt as soon as the January transfer window as Chelsea look to free up some funding in an attempt to ensure Champions League qualification.
Mancini is looking to lead the Milan side to their first league championship since 2010, and break the dominance of Juventus, who have won the last four straight titles.
Inter are currently joint top of Serie A with Fiorentina thanks to their defensive dominance, but are still struggling for goals, having scored just 12 in their 12 league games.
Mancini could offer Hazard a way out of Chelsea as he seeks to win the Scudetto |
Mauro Icardi and former City striker Stevan Jovetic are Inter's current top scorers with three just each, and Mancini is hoping that Hazard can add some much-needed penetration to their attack.
However, his reported £10million-a-year wage may make the deal unfeasible for Inter, not to mention the transfer fee Ballon d'Or nominee, which is estimated to be upwards of £75million.
Despite his inconsistencies this season, Hazard is still highly valued across the continent, with Florentino Perez, Real Madrid president, putting him top of their shopping list, while PSG and Juventus have also expressed an interested should he become available.
