Thiago Silva (right) says PSG should try to sign Cristiano Ronaldo |
CRISTIANO RONALDO would be welcomed at PSG as his presence could catapult the club to Champions League glory, claims Thiago Silva.
Ronaldo, 30, has been linked with a summer switch to Paris - although Manchester United are also keen on him.
The former United player joined Real Madrid in an £80million transfer in 2009 and Louis van Gaal wants him back at Old Trafford.
But with the MLS also eyeing up a swoop for Ronaldo, it appears unlikely that he will quit Real for the Premier League come July.
"I do not know (if Ronaldo will join) but it's fun playing with such major players," Silva said.
"Ronaldo is the best player in the world. If the club wants him, of course the PSG squad would be happy.
"He is a very good player, technically essential for all teams in the world and especially for PSG, who have a big dream to win the Champions League with great players."
Ronaldo spoke to PSG manager Laurent Blanc after Real's 1-0 win over the French club in the Champions League last week.
He covered his mouth as he delivered a message to Blanc, which Spanish media claims was a veiled attempt to hint at a move to Paris.
It has also been reported that PSG are ready to offer the ace a £194m contract over 10 years.
And Silva hopes the rumours are true.
"I think Ronaldo will come," he added.
"I do not know what happened with Blanc after the game because he did not say but I hope (there were talks).
"He speaks French very well, perhaps better than me, and if it happens next year he will have no difficulty speaking with the media."
