HARRY REDKNAPP believes Manchester United fans are unhappy as they have been spoilt in years gone by.
Their frustration boiled over in a chorus of boos at Old Trafford last night, as Anthony Martial was hauled off in favour of Marouane Fellaini during their 1-0 win over CSKA Moscow in the Champions League.
And Redknapp thinks they have become accustomed to far better due to their period of domination under former manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
"They’ve all been brought up on seeing such fantastic football under Fergie, and that was always going to be difficult to follow.
“They were so exciting - with the Giggs’, the Beckham’s, the Scholes’, the Keane’s and all the other superstars - they just played amazing attacking football and the fans have probably been spoilt over the years.
“They want to see the same sort of football but it was going to be difficult for anyone to replicate that.”
Boss Louis van Gaal has come in for particular criticism, with Red Devils legend Paul Scholes leading the charge against the Dutchman.
He insists Van Gaal's style is "boring" and believes even the world's best strikers would struggle to score goals in his side.
United had failed to score in the three games prior to last night's victory, while Wayne Rooney has just two Premier League goals to his name.
Van Gaal could address the crisis by going into the transfer market in January, with reports claiming he will make a bid for Fiorentina striker Mario Gomez.
