Harry Kane insists Arsenal performance shows Tottenham belong in the Champions League
Harry Kane put Tottenham ahead against Arsenal at the Emirates
HARRY KANE believes that Tottenham are finally beginning to show they belong among the Premier League’s top four – the challenge now is to get there.

In the past it has been Spurs’ inability to compete with their direct peers that has cost them a Champions League place. Two seasons ago, Tottenham picked up just one point out of 24 against the quartet who finished above them and last year’s tally had only improved slightly to four.
Yet after narrowly losing to Manchester United on the opening game of the season, Tottenham have since gone 11 games unbeaten – a run which has included fixtures against Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal.
And it has not just been the results but the manner of those performances that is beginning to convince the Tottenham players that they can genuinely stake a place among the English game’s elite.

Mauricio Pochettino has guided Tottenham to an 11 game unbeaten run
“The unbeaten run shows that we can be up there with the big teams,” Kane said. “We probably deserved to win against Liverpool, we beat City and probably maybe deserved to win against Arsenal on Sunday as well.
“We’re not just drawing where we’re hanging on, we’re drawing where we’re playing very well and there are chances we could be winning these games.
“We played great football on Sunday. We played good possession, pressed them high up the pitch, won the ball back high and created a lot of chances.

"But of course if you don’t kill teams off like Arsenal or the top teams, you get punished and that’s what happened, but a point away at the Emirates isn’t the worst result in the world.
“There’s still a long way to go and we’re not going to come out and say we’re title contenders but we’ve just got to keep doing what we’re doing.
“We’re in a great position at the moment and we’ve played a lot of tough teams. We’re playing very well, we’ve got great belief and we’ve just got to keep trying to move up that table.”
