Online pornography website saw a drop in online traffic after Fallout 4 hit shelvesOnline pornograph |
A POPULAR porn website has reported plummeting web traffic in the hours following the release of much-anticipated video game, Fallout 4.
Fallout 4 was one of the most anticipated video game launches of 2015.
And it appears fans of the post-apocalyptic thriller are so hooked on the video game, they have stopped watching online pornography.
Website Pornhub just released a slew of data which reveals the large in web traffic on the day Fallout 4 hit UK shelves.
In fact, overall web traffic to the popular adult entertainment site fell by 10 per cent just before 5am and continued until 3pm when it slowly started to rise again.
It would still be another 12 hours before web traffic to Pornhub climbed back to its pre-Fallout 4 heights.
Pornhub saw another drop after video game plays returned to their PC and consoles at around 9pm to continue their Fallout campaigns.
“We can’t say we’re too surprised with what happened to our traffic during peak gaming hours,” said Pornhub Vice President Corey Price.

“Based on the data, it looks like a huge surge of people decided to indulge in some wasteland wandering by taking the day off of work and school to play, while the rest of the world had to wade through what we assume were the longest hours of work ever in anticipation of some alone time with their consoles.”
Fallout 4 promises to be one of the biggest video game releases of the year.
The post-apocalyptic game has had rave reviews – and its impact on popular online pornography websites is another testament to its popularity.
