DAVID DE GEA has backed Memphis Depay to replicate his performance against Watford on the weekend when he takes on his former club PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday.
Depay has been dropped from the Manchester United team in recent weeks but with injuries to Wayne Rooney and Anthony Martial meant the Dutchman returned to the starting line up on Saturday.
And he repaid Louis van Gaal’s faith with the opening goal and an all round impressive display in the 2-1 win.
The 21-year-old joined United in the summer from PSV for a fee in the region of £25-30m and De Gea expects the winger to hit top form sooner rather than later.

“He has had a tough few weeks and I’m sure he’ll soon be back at the top of his game,” De Gea said.
“He’s going to bring a lot to the team and I’m sure he’ll be really up for playing against his old club.
“We had quite a few chances and I don’t think we deserved to lose [in Eindhoven].
“We have the chance to play against them at home. We know it will be a difficult game but we need to get the victory and grab the three points.”
