Danny Welbeck: Move to Arsenal from Man United has been 'difficult'
Danny Welbeck has admitted his long absence has been 'difficult'

DANNY WELBECK has admitted he's growing frustrated by an injury that has kept him sidelined for months.

The former Manchester United striker damaged his knee towards the back end of last season and underwent surgery in September to step up his recovery.
However, the England international's road to recovery has been a long and slow one, and he's admitted to finding the time out 'difficult'.

"It's slow and steady but it's coming along, it's difficult to see the lads when you're still in the gym, doing double days, but once I get back out on the pitch and start running I will be much happier," he said.
"It's a difficult period for me but I'm looking forward to coming back strong. I want to get back out on the pitch, keep on improving, keep training and keep fit - that's the main thing.

"I just want to get back to playing football."
And in a bid to get back sooner, the 24-year-old has admitted he's been spending a lot of time in the gym to build up his muscle mass.

Welbeck's injury has also seen him fall down the pecking order in the national team

"I'm trying to build to muscle and it's hard, but it's something that I've grasped with two hands and I'm really looking forward to my return," he added.
Welbeck has scored eight goals in 34 appearances for Arsenal since joining from Manchester United in September 2014.
