Alexandre Pato's proposed move to Liverpool has been dismissed by Roberto De Andrade
CORINTHIANS have dismissed reports that Liverpool have agreed to sign Alexandre Pato, according to reports.
It was reported by Tutto Mercato Web that Liverpool and Corinthians had struck a £14.3million deal for the 26-year-old, but it appears that there have been no negotiations with Liverpool over his transfer to Anfield - claim GlobeEsporte. With Corinthians chairman Roberto De Andrade later adding on SporTVthat "Corinthians have received nothing. Nothing concrete has arrived."Despite this, De Andrade remains confident that Corinthians, who sent Pato on loan to Sao Paulo in February 2014, would be able to sell the player in January. "I still think Pato is a great player, and I continue to be certain that we will negotiate a deal for the player on the European market," he said.Pato recently admitted that Manchester United approached him on transfer deadline day but talks over a transfer to the Premier League started too late. He has also been linked with a move to West Ham and Tottenham since signing for Corinthians from AC Milan on a four-year deal in January 2013. Pato has scored 17 goals for Corinthians, who loaned him to Sao Paulo in February 2014, where he has netted 37 times during his temporary spell.
