Costa scored his first goal in seven games for Chelsea against Norwich |
MARK BOSNICH claims Diego Costa is on the way out of Chelsea after his histrionics on the substitutes' bench yesterday.
Costa didn't warm up before the game, and only went for a touchline jog with fifteen minutes left in the game.
Returning to the bench, the dropped Spaniard discarded his bib in the direction of manager Jose Mourinho, an incident which was not missed by the TV cameras, or Bosnich.
"It didn't look good," Bosnich told Talksport.
"Generally when you are with a manager and you do that type of thing, it is the beginning of the end.
"Not going out for the warm-up, I can understand that completely, but throwing the bib at the manager during the game points to one way.
"They probably won't do it immediately but I really do think it is the beginning of the end, which is really unfortunate because he has been a smash hit since he has been at Chelsea."
The London club have been linked with a number of different strikers as Costa's previously prolific form has faded badly under the pressure of Chelsea's poor start to the season.
Despite an apparent return to form, Costa was benched at White Hart Lane |
Top of the list to replace the Brazilian-born striker is Shakhtar Donetsk forward Alex Teixeira, who has spoken publicly about his desire to play in the Premier League.
Chelsea had been hoping to play Teixeira behind Costa, but if their current striker's behaviour continues then they may be forced to play the new signing as an out-and-out centre forward.
Roman Abramovich has also been linked with bids for West Brom's Saido Berahino and highly-rated Boca Juniors striker Jonathan Calleri, all of which could be funded by a Costa exit.
