CHELSEA are hoping to conclude negotiations and tie down Willian by offering him a £100,000-a-week contract extension in the New Year.
The Brazilian has been one of Jose Mourinho’s star performers in what has proved to be a difficult season so far for the Blues, and the club want to reward the 27-year-old by offering him a new contract at Stamford Bridge, claim the Evening Standard.
Willian’s current contract, which is worth around £80,000 a week, is set to expire in 2018 but Chelsea want to extend his deal until at least 2020 and increase his pay to £100,000 a week.
Talks over an extension for the clubs’s top goalscorer (five goals) have already begun as it looks as if it will only be a matter of time before a deal is struck.
The free-kick specialist signed for Chelsea from Russian outfit Anzhi Makhachkala for £30million in 2013.
This comes in the wake of Eden Hazard signing a new-five year deal in February, and Ramires committing his future to Chelsea until 2019 last month.
