CESC FABREGAS has opened up on his departure from Barcelona.
The Spain midfielder says fans fell out of love with him and admits he had to leave.
Fabregas returned to the Premier League in 2014 with Chelsea after an eight-year spell at rivals Arsenal.
Arsenal had been linked with bringing him back to the Emirates and Manchester United had shown interest the year before.
But he helped the Blues to the league title last season but has struggled this year.
Chelsea are languishing in 16th after 12 games.
And Fabregas has lifted the lid further on his move.
"I treated the people of Barcelona well," Fabregas told Marca.
"But at the end I realised that the majority of Barca fans didn't like me anymore.
"So I had to make a step aside."
