Leonardo Jardim is reported to be on Chelsea's radar as a potential replacement for Jose Mourinho |
CHELSEA will turn to Monaco manager Leonardo Jardim if Jose Mourinho is sacked, according to a leading French journalist.
The relatively unknown Venezuelean would cost around £7.1million in compensation and Nicolas Vilas claims they are happy to pay it.
A tweet from his official Twitter account read: "In the event of departure from Mourinho, Chelsea, Abramovitch (sic) would like to afford Jardim and could release 10 M € to Monaco."
Mourinho is under increasing pressure after their poor start to the season was compounded by a 3-1 home loss to rivals Liverpool last Saturday.

And reports claim Roman Abramovich is ready to wield the axe if the poor results continue.
They have been linked with a host of top names, including Pep Guardiola and Diego Simeone.
Carlo Ancelotti could also make an emotional return to Stamford Bridge, while Brendan Rodgers has been touted as someone who could come in on an interim basis.

Jardim has not even been mentioned until now and a move for the 41-year-old would come as a huge shock.
He has been been in Ligue 1 since 2014, following a successful season in Portugal with Sporting.
Despite Monaco's recent change of strategy, where they have decided to sell their big-name players, he led them to a third-placed finish last season.
