Jose Mourinho has lost his FA appeal |
JOSE MOURINHO has seen another FA appeal tossed out.
The Chelsea boss, who is banned from attending Saturday's clash with Stoke, appealed against a charge brought to him in the wake of his melt down after defeat to Southampton.
Mourinho launched a seven-minute rant after the 3-1 loss and was handed a £50,000 fine and a suspended one-match stadium ban.
And today the FA confirmed they have dismissed his appeal.
"An Appeal Board has dismissed the appeal from Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho in relation to a decision made by an Independent Regulatory Commission," an FA Statement read.
"At the original commission hearing, Mr Mourinho was given a suspended one-match stadium ban and fined £50,000 after he admitted a breach of FA Rules in relation to post-match media comments made following the game against Southampton on Saturday 3 October 2015.
"The Appeal Board has upheld the original sanction and therefore it remains that Mr Mourinho’s suspended stadium ban will be immediately invoked should he be found by an Independent Regulatory Commission to have committed a further breach of FA Rule E3 for any comment or statement to or through the media before 13 October 2016."
Mourinho is under fire having seen Chelsea slip to 15th, now 14 points behind leaders Manchester City and Arsenal, and for his off-field rants.
Chelsea overcame Dynamo Kiev last night thanks to Willian's late free kick but face Stoke this weekend before the international break needing a win.
It is understood Roman Abramovich is still torn on Mourinho's future, but today Baba Rahman insisted everyone in the dressing room was behind him.
"We play for the manager and for the club and we just want to fight for the club, and now we are looking to take this form into the Premier League," he said.
"I don’t think the media speculation has much effect on the players because the manager tells us what to do and everyone believes in the manager and we are doing what he tells us.
"I felt the togetherness the first day I came here and the guys received me very well. As you can see on the pitch when a goal is scored we are together."
