Boss talks up Steven Gerrard reunion as Liverpool outline summer plans
Steven Gerrard joined LA Galaxy in the summer

LIVERPOOL are keen to arrange a reunion with Steven Gerrard - but he won't be returning as a player.

Gerrard, 35, is currently midway through his contract at MLS side LA Galaxy.
The former England captain left Liverpool last summer after spending his whole career at the club.

And chief executive Ian Ayre says he wants to arrange a friendly with Gerrard's new side next summer.
"That's something we have on our radar of ideas," Ayre told BBC Sport in New York.
"Steven is back in Liverpool at the moment, so I'm sure we can have a chance to see what he thinks."

Liverpool are planning their pre-season tour for 2016 and have earmarked the USA as a primary destination.
"If you go back over the last seven or eight years, I don't think anybody in the Premier League would have predicted that this would become a key market," Ayre said.
"Everybody always knew the size of the opportunity in the US was huge but I think everybody is trying to catch up with the pick-up it's had in the last five or six years."

Liverpool played five friendly games last pre-season, jetting off to Thailand, Australia and Malaysia before playing in Finland before the start of the Premier League season.
Manchester United and Chelsea both headed to the States for money-spinning friendlies, with United facing Barcelona and PSG in front of sell-out crowds.
