Boost for Jose Mourinho as Chelsea star confirms new contract

Alex Davey has been with Chelsea for 10 years

YOUNG Chelsea defender Alex Davey has signed a new contract to remain at Stamford Bridge.

The 20-year-old, who has been with the club for ten years, is currently on loan at Peterborough United.
He has made nine appearances so far and impressed enough for his loan spell to be extended until the beginning of January 2016.

Davey is just one of 33 Chelsea players out on loan this season.

The centre-back's contract will come as a boost for Jose Mourinho whose job is under considerable pressure.
The Portuguese believes his future is not in any doubt but reports suggest he may only have two more matches to save his job.
