Aston Villa manager blocks move to bring in former Man United and Everton man
Garde was aware of Round speculation, but says he is happy with his staff as it is
ASTON VILLA boss Remi Garde has blocked a move to bring former Manchester United and Everton No.2 Steve Round to the club.

Garde has stepped in to end speculation that the 45-year-old was about to be named as his assistant.
The new French boss explained that he was well aware of communication between Round and Villa's recruitment team.
Garde revealed that while he had also spoken to Round it was more out of politeness to explain the situation.

Round was David Moyes' assistant for five years at Goodison before an ill-fated 11-month spell at Old Trafford. He was also Steve McClaren's No2 at Derby before the former England boss's defection to Newcastle at the end of last season.
Garde said: "I know Steve has been linked with the club but probably before I came here.
"The club had talks before I was linked then they told me they'd had this chat.

"I said it was no problem and I wanted to be polite. I didn't know Steve personally but I know his career so it was nice to have a chat with him but that was it.
"I have brought Reginald Ray and Robert Duverne with me. I am happy at the moment with my staff."
