Arsene Wenger picks up October's Manager of the Month award

ARSENE WENGER has picked up the Manager of the Month award for October.

 

The Arsenal boss led his side to four straight Premier League victories last month over Manchester United, Watford, Everton and Swansea.

The Gunners, who sit joint-top of the standings with Manchester City, found the back of the net 11 times and conceded only once.

Wenger beat City and Leicester counterparts Manuel Pellegrini and Claudio Ranieri - respectively - to the monthly gong

"It is always good because it just reminds you that - especially after a defeat like we had on Wednesday night - we have not done too badly in the last month," Wenger said.

"You worry as well about maintaining the run for coming months. That is what we want to do always."

On the win over United, Wenger added: "That was the highlight because there are very few matches where it all clicks perfectly in the first 20 minutes and that is one of the games.

"We had a difficult start against West Ham and after that we have responded very well and are now on a good run. Our target of course is to maintain it."
