| Alexandre Pato could be returning to Europe in January |
ARSENE WENGER has been in contact with Corinthians over a deal to sign Alexandre Pato.
The former AC Milan forward is ready to quit the Brazilian club in January when his loan spell at Sao Paulo ends.
And former Arsenal midfielder Edu is director of football at Corinthians, and has spoken to Wenger about him.
Edu flew to London and saw Wenger as well as visiting Chelsea and Tottenham, who have both been linked with Pato as well.
However Edu denies he was there to push through a deal.
“I wasn’t there to tout him around but if people ask about him, I’m going to answer,” Edu said.
“I talked and they asked questions – not just about him, but about a few of our players. They know them well.
“I had lunch with Arsene Wenger and he asked about [Pato] and about others."
