Mathieu Debuchy was subbed off after 77 minutes by Arsene Wenger |
ARSENE WENGER has confirmed Mathieu Debuchy is not injured despite his early substitution in the north London derby.
Debuchy had been sidelined by injury for much of last season, and has since played second fiddle to Hector Bellerin, subsequently missing out on game time.
And the manager believes this, coupled with the fact that he played in the 5-1 defeat at Bayern Munich last Wedenesday, was the reason for his early exit at the weekend."Debuchy finished tired because he played against Bayern, and played today, and had not much competition, but he looks alright," he said. However, the boss is concerned with the approaching international break that he could lose more players to injury - a particular worry given the current treatment room list. The Gunners are without a number of stars, including Hector Bellerin, Aaron Ramsey, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Theo Walcott, and Wenger hopes the break doesn't compound their injury woes.

We have 10 players out. I hope during the international break we do not lose more, but we should get some back like Ramsey, like Chamberlain for maybe just after the break," he added."Players like Sanchez, who have played many games, they go out and play two games again."
