Arsenal boss invites journalist for a ‘night out’ to prove he likes to spend money
Arsene Wenger insists he's not tight when it comes to spending
ARSENE WENGER tackled his frugal spending tag, by inviting a journalist to prove he does like to splash the cash.

Wenger has routinely been criticised during his time as Arsenal manager for being cautious in the transfer window.
The Gunners were the only club in the top five European leagues who failed to sign a single outfield player over the summer.
With the north London outfit’s injury crisis deepening, Wenger could be forced to show his hand in January.

After a journalist mocked Wenger for his supposed frugal ways, Wenger responded in witty fashion.
“No I don't agree with you. And if I invite you [out] one night,” Wenger said.

“It's you the press that gave me that reputation but my friends don't think that!"
Wenger is one of the highest paid managers in football, raking in over £8million a season.
