We're right behind you! Strachan gets squad backing as he considers Scotland options
Scotland's whole squad are behind Gordon Strachan should he choose to stay on

GORDON Strachan has been told that every one of his Scotland players want him to stay and lead them into the World Cup qualifiers.

Midfielder Shaun Maloney revealed the squad discussed the issue at length and made it clear they all hope the national coach extends his SFA contract.
Strachan has hinted he will remain but he will hold talks with assistant bosses Mark McGhee and Stuart McCall as well as his family before officially committing to a new deal.
Some of the country’s greatest football names, including Kenny Dalglish, Alex McLeish and Denis Law, have also urged the Scotland boss to remain.

Shaun Maloney reckons Strachan has helped the side progress over the campaign
Maloney said: “We are all keen – the full group spoke about it.
“And we have obviously heard some of the greatest Scottish players talk about it over the last few days.
“But it is the manager’s decision and, in the next two or three weeks, he will decide. From where we were in the last campaign, I think we all agree that we have progressed from that.”
The Tartan Army also gave Strachan vocal backing during and after the 6-0 win over Gibraltar on Sunday.
That comes despite Scotland missing out on Euro 2016 following losses to Georgia and Germany, with the final nail in the coffin coming with Poland’s draw in Glasgow last week.
