Harry Kane wants to ruin Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool debut
HARRY KANE has warned Liverpool that Tottenham plan to “out-Klopp the Kop” at White Hart Lane on Saturday to burst the bubble of optimism surrounding Merseyside since the arrival of the new manager.
Jurgen Klopp’s philosophy is all about high-intensity “very fast, very direct” football - the sort of style that has seen Tottenham go on a seven-game unbeaten run since their opening-day defeat against Manchester United.Kane, who made is first two competitive England starts over the weekend, cannot wait to get back to club football and believes that as Liverpool find their feet, Tottenham have the engine to roar away from them from the blocks.“I think we’ve out-run every team we have played this season. That’s a sign we’re playing the manager’s tactics right and we are fit enough to do it. So it’s a case of doing it again on Saturday.“Obviously Liverpool are going to have a new manager and they will be up for it. In the first couple of game everybody tries to impress so they will probably have that little five per cent extra than usual. We expect that.“But, like I said, we have out-run every team we have played and will be looking to do so again. The Liverpool players at England could not wait to get back to start working under him. But I am focused on Tottenham and what we have to do.”

The one thing Spurs don’t “have” to do this season is finish in the top four after chief executive Daniel Levy has finally relaxed his Champions League demands after too many years of failure.Perversely, though, Kane thinks that the lack of expectation in that direction could help the north London club to creep into one of the much-prized berths.“It’s probably a good thing nobody is talking about the Champions League,” he said. “We haven’t lost in the League since the first game of the season. We’ve had a few draws where we should have won as well. But we are playing well and doing the right things. We have a fit young squad and we are training hard. We are happy to stay under the radar and keep putting in good performances.“It’s very open. I think that’s the standard of the Premier League – anyone can beat anyone, and that’s been shown a lot this season. We have Liverpool on Saturday and we are really looking forward to it. Hopefully we can perform well again and get another three points.”
